Venue
When studying at Long Eaton, you will be based at the football club on a full-time basis. This includes training and playing at the same facilities the first team use all season.
The Qualification
BTEC Level 3 in Sport Coaching and Developmemt – This is a two-year course, and you will study 18 different units in a variety of different subjects giving you an insight into the sports sector, an example of some of the units include Sports Development, Fitness Testing and Psychology in Sport.
Course Assessment
Both qualifications are assignment based, this means that your work will be graded Pass, Merit or Distinction depending on the quality of work that you submit.
Entry Requirements
Learners looking to study with LFE on the level 3 qualification will need to have a minimum four grade 4 GCSE's, including one of maths and English or a relevant Level 2 qualification. Learners looking to study the level 2 will need a variety of GCSE grades ranging from grade 1-3.

The course that you will study is a full-time course, meaning you may be expected to be in every day depending on your timetable. A typical timetable can be seen below, please note this may be slightly different from year to year.
Exit Routes
Following completion of the course, there are a variety of different exit routes for you, depending on your final grades and career aspirations. For learners that achieve Merit and Distinction grades you will be able to access a variety of University courses if this is the route that you would like to go down. In addition, several of our learners have also achieved USA scholarships in recent years who are now studying full time in the USA alongside playing football.
